Miss Bawineisung rest in peace

Miss Bawineisung (20) daughter of Mr. Thangluai and Mrs. Lengsung from C. Zamual village in Falam Township, Chin state was working as a house keeper. She was found dead in J.C Malsawma’s house in Zarkawt  block, Aizawl.

Miss Bawineisung was possibly killed by unknown person while the owners of the house had gone out for voluntary church activity. When J.C Malsawma’s family came back home, Bawineisung was found dead on her bed.

“When we arrived at home, the door was ajar and the television was on. When she did not respond to our call we went inside her room and found her bleeding from the neck. She had died,” said a local who witnessed the scene.

After a post mortem in the civil hospital in Aizawl, the body was sent to Falam where her mother lives. A taxi was arranged to take her body to Chin state via Chiamphai in Mizoram.

“We collected around Rs. 15,000 for transporting the body to her home,” said Mr. Sui Thawng in Aizawl.

Six members of the Lai Christian Church (Falam) will accompany the body to Falam. The Young Mizo Association in Zarkawt Block, Aizawl is said to have arranged for the coffin for Bawineisung.

“Most Myanmarese women working as house keepers in Aizawl are living in fear since the murder,” said Miss Cheery Zahau, coordinator of Women’s League of Chinland.

The police in Aizawl summoned two close friends of Bawineisung and other Indian nationals for interrogation into the killing. The culprits are still at large.

Bawineisung had been in Aizawl as a house keeper for three years. She looked after her mother after her father died. – KNG.
