Mizoram police make arrest in Chin woman murder case
June 18, 2007: The Mizoram police arrested David Vanlaltlanchhuaha (28) son of Lalhmingthanga from Aizawl, capital of Mizoram state on June 14, for allegedly murdering a domestic help hailing from Chin state, Myanmar.
David Vanlaltlanchhuaha was picked up for killing Bawineisung, a domestic help in Aizawl. The police have charged him under the Indian Penalty Code Nos. (416), (457) and (380), said a police official in Aizawl.
Bawineisung (20) daughter of Mr. Thangluai from Chin state was killed in J.C Malsawma's house in Zarkawt block, Aizawl while the owners had gone out on June 10.
David Vanlaltlanchhuaha was said to have confessed to murdering the Chin woman.
A police officer said that the accused has also been charged with breaking into a 'Skylink' a local television broadcasting office and driving a taxi without a license.
The culprit was arrested from his rented house in Salem block in Aizawl where he stayed with his family.
The accused had stayed in J.C Malsawma's house for a month before he killed the domestic help from Chin state. KNG
