Adviser to Chin National League for Democracy dead
May 25, 2007: Robert T.C Nunga, Adviser to the Chin National League for Democracy (CNLD) died of pneumonia at 3 a.m. today. He was 69. He was a bachelor.
Robert was born in Falam town 1938. In 1998 he established the party's Mizoram unit in exile on the Indo-Myanmar border. He was the first president of the Organization. Till his last day he served as one of its four advisers.
"It is very sad and we will miss our beloved leader. We feel as if half our body is dead. As an adviser he was very close to us," said Mr That SanVung, Mizoram Coordinator of the CNLD.
"We had associated with him for 11 years. He was not partial and he believed in justice for all classes," he added.
Robert
served as Adviser to the unit in Mizoram from 2002. Following which,
he served in the same post in the headquarters from 2005 to 2007. - KNG
