Fasting prayer for democracy in Burma
November 27, 2007 - Burmese people in Mizoram state, northeast India prayed after fasting yesterday for freedom from dictatorship in Burma.
At 8 am yesterday, about 50 members from 15 Burmese fellowship churches in Mizoram gathered at the Assembly of God church in Aizawl, capital of Mizoram and held a fasting prayer for democracy in Burma .
"We prayed for ushering in democracy in Burma soon and for the spread of the Gospel in the country", Pastor Puala from AG church said.
The prayer service was concluded at around 1 pm yesterday. The Burmese Christians in Mizoram plan to conduct a similar service once a month in the future.
On October 22, Christians from Burma held a prayer service for democracy in Burma at the Lai Christian Fellowship in Aizawl. – Khonumthung.
