The president of the Alliance of Chin Refugee (ACR) said that such things happen in Malaysia. Five Chin people died in motor accidents in 2008.

Although he died in a motor accident we cannot claim any compensation and police officers and the driver put a lid on the case by mutual agreement immediately, he added.

Minhtun had settled in Malaysia in 2006 and he had United Nations refugee card. He has five children and they are staying in Matupi town with his wife.

In fact, Chin people in western Myanmar are working in foreign countries like India, Malaysia and Thailand for survival as the military junta oppress them in terms of human rights violations and growing economic crisis.

Most of the Chin people are in Myanmar are totally dependent on salaries of their relatives in foreign countries.

Now there are around 30,000 Chin workers in Malaysia. - Khonumthung News
